The Immersive Kind’s Kadine James and Lucy Wheeler will share insights into their recent project, future art ecosystems in the metaverse. They will discuss their interdisciplinary research into the metaverse, what it means to create within a digitised society and the emerging tools being used by artists.

Kadine is considered one of the topmost influential women working in AL, ML and 3D Printing, augmented reality, virtual reality, spatial computing, XR, immersive gaming and innovation. A pioneer in leading change in the immersive technology industry. She works at the intersection of future technology, strategy, and storytelling, engaging audiences across the globe around the future applications of emerging technologies.

She collaborates with world-leading XR artists, architects, designers, creatives, technologists and galleries and institutions and has lectured around the world.

Kadine is the Founder of The Immersive Kind, an XR Creative Agency and community of 24/7 IRLxURL Community of 3D artists, designers, scientists and creative technologists from around the globe.

Kadine is listed as one of the top 100 most influential women in UK technology (computer weekly)

Kadine co-founded a 3D Skills Academy in London teaching (3D printing, AI, ML, XR, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, immersive and interactive gaming environments (Unreal/Unity) at Here East.


Lucy is a multi-faceted artist, designer and creative technologist. A trained artist, Lucy creates extended reality art experiences, teaches digital technologies at London College of Fashion and has co-founded The Immersive Kind, art and advanced technology organisation and creative extended reality (XR) studio.

Lucy explores the chaos in our world and is a London-based art, sustainability and metaverse creator and researcher. She has worked in creative technology outreach and exhibited online and offline whilst also establishing herself as a creative director for contemporary art and creative technology industries.

Lucy has given talks for various cultural organisations including, Brazil Immersive Fashion Week, British Film Institute, Digital Catapult, Chelsea College of Arts, Digital Maker Collective, Plymouth College of Art, Somerset House, Studio Wayne McGregor, Tate Exchange, Women in 3D Printing.

After achieving a First Class BA (Hons) Fine Arts degree at University Arts London, Lucy was invited to be the July 19 Digital Art House resident, toured her virtual reality project, ‘Just-in-Time’ at multiple pop-up art and tech events with The Immersive Kind. Lucy has been selected to exhibit in various group art exhibitions at art spaces including A.P.T Gallery and Wimbledon Space.
